Question 1

Which Australian visa is right for me?

Accepted Answer

It depends on your occupation, age, English, work history, family and whether you have a job offer or a sponsor. A consultation with a Registered Migration Agent compares the routes that fit you and recommends one in writing.

Question 2

Can I apply for more than one visa category?

Accepted Answer

Yes, in many cases. People often hold a student or work visa while preparing for a skilled or employer-sponsored permanent visa. The order you do things in matters, so plan it before you start.

Question 3

Do you guarantee a visa?

Accepted Answer

No. The Department of Home Affairs makes the decision, and no agent can promise one. We make sure your application is accurate, complete and well prepared.

Question 4

Can I get Australian PR without a job offer?

Accepted Answer

Yes. The skilled visas (189, 190 and 491) are based on your skills, points and, for the 190 and 491, a state or territory nomination. They do not need a job offer. Employer-sponsored visas (482 and 186) do need one.

Question 5

Can I apply for PR while I am on a student visa?

Accepted Answer

In many cases, yes. Students and graduates in Australia can often move to a skilled or employer-sponsored visa. Studying in Australia can also add points. The order you do things in matters, so plan it before you finish your course.

Question 6

Do I need an English test?

Accepted Answer

Most skilled and work visas ask for proof of English. Several tests are accepted, and the score decides how many points you earn. Passport holders of the UK, US, Ireland, Canada and New Zealand have different rules. Check the current requirement for your visa before you book a test.

Question 7

Can I include my partner and children in my application?

Accepted Answer

Usually yes. Most visas let you include your partner and dependent children as part of the same application. Each visa has its own conditions, and costs are charged per person. Our Australian skilled migration page shows this stage by stage.

Question 8

What documents will I need?

Accepted Answer

It depends on the visa. Expect identity documents, qualifications, employment evidence, English results, health examinations and police certificates. After your consultation we issue a checklist made for your case, so you collect only what you need.

Question 9

Can I work in Australia while my PR application is processed?

Accepted Answer

It depends on the visa you hold at the time. If you are already in Australia, your current visa or a bridging visa may carry work rights. If you apply from outside Australia, you generally cannot work until a visa is granted. We check this for your situation before you lodge.

Question 10

Can trade and certificate holders apply?

Accepted Answer

Yes, for occupations on the relevant lists. Trades usually need a qualification, work experience and a positive skills assessment for the specific occupation. A certificate on its own may not be enough, so check your profile with us first.

Question 11

How many invitations are issued each year?

Accepted Answer

The Government sets an overall migration planning level each year. Invitations are issued in rounds and are not set aside by nationality. Your occupation and points decide where you stand, so waiting times vary.

Question 12

Does Australian PR lead to citizenship?

Accepted Answer

It can. Citizenship is a separate application. In general you must have lived in Australia lawfully for a required period, including time as a permanent resident, and meet the other requirements. The rules can change, so we confirm the current requirements with you when you are close.
