Questions

OSCA and ANZSCO

What is OSCA?
OSCA (Occupation Standard Classification for Australia) is the Australian Bureau of Statistics classification of occupations that replaces ANZSCO for statistics. OSCA 2024 version 1.0 was released on 6 December 2024.
Do I use OSCA or ANZSCO for an Australian visa?
ANZSCO. As of 21 October 2026, the Home Affairs skilled occupation lists, skills assessments and visa applications still use ANZSCO codes.
Why does one ANZSCO code match several OSCA codes?
OSCA splits some ANZSCO occupations into newer, more specific ones, and merges others. A match marked “in part” means only some of the ANZSCO occupation moved to that OSCA code.
